The complete optical link for extreme-range operations

An optical fiber system replaces a radio frequency link with a physical glass fiber connection. A single strand of G657.A2 fiber carries video, control signals and data as pulses of 1550nm light - immune to electromagnetic interference, impossible to jam by conventional RF means, producing no detectable radio emissions. The fiber cable is the medium: G657.A2 single-mode at 0.25mm diameter and 80g per kilometer, designed for controlled spooling and deployment from UAVs, ROVs and ground robots. The transceiver pair is the interface: the SE V2 air unit mounts on the platform, the ground station transceiver receives and outputs video, control and data. Together they form a complete, self-contained optical data link. At 1550nm wavelength, single-mode fiber carries signals from 14 to 80km with attenuation below 0.21 dB/km - sufficient for long-range transmission without amplification. Unlike RF links, performance does not degrade near high-voltage infrastructure, in electromagnetically dense environments or under active jamming conditions.
